Omni Media & Entertainment is working in conjunction with the world famous Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel, that hosted the first major poker tournament, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) from 1970 to 2004.

"The American Poker Player Championship™ is a response to the tremendous popularity of poker in America today. We are proud to provide this new venue and anticipate great success because it will be a multi-event tournament, with cash prizes in each event, and the main event will be an affordable $5,000 buy-in championship."

by WSOP Ladies Champion Susie Isaacs, and
1983 WSOP Main Event Champion, Tom McEvoy

	In 1992 Susie Isaacs won her first poker championship at a competition in Las Vegas, and went on to win the Ladies World Championships in 1996 and 1997. She is the first woman to win back-to-back titles at the World Series of Poker. Susie has been writing about poker and poker players since 1985, and her articles are found in major poker magazines.
Tom McEvoy made history when he won a $10,000 seat in the WSOP after entering a satellite tournamnet. He parlayed the win into the 1983 WSOP Championship, and became the first player to win from a satellite seat. Tom has since won an additional three bracelets at the WSOP giving him a total of four.

Rich in history, and located on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas since 1951, Binion's was first named The Horseshoe, and was renowned for their high limit games.
